Volunteer Opportunities
Hello, to all the parents, grandparents and friends of Washington elementary. A great big THANK YOU to all who have volunteered over the years and also for all the help during the 2009-10 school year.
We have several projects going on already this year and many more planned for the rest of the school year. We have a Washington Elementary Volunteer Checklist of areas and events for which volunteers are needed. Please put a check mark next to those areas that may be of interest to you. This will greatly help us in our planning for the future. Also, we have a Washington Volunteer Form to help us connect you with the event you are interested in. Lastly, you will also need to complete a Bay City Public School Volunteer Form. Again, thank you!
Also, please do not forget to put your child’s, (children’s) teacher’s name on this form. If you have more than one child please fill one form out for each child. (two children, two forms)
With today’s school budget cuts your help is needed more than ever before. Volunteers bring more than just time; they bring resources to your child’s classroom.
Just to name a few ways your volunteer hours can help;
· Volunteer hours are logged and tracked each week, the more volunteer hours a school/ district has the more access we have to federal grants that can give us books and other items we need.
· Box tops and labels are free and easy ways for Washington to receive money and resources.
· School fundraisers pay for the special activities, prizes and projects for our students.
· When your child sees you volunteering for his/her school, even if it’s a few minutes at home, they know that you think they and their education are important to you.
We look forward to meeting and working with all of you. If you have any questions or suggestions regarding our volunteer program, please contact one of our Volunteer Coordinators below.
Again, a big THANK YOU for all of your help, past and future!!!
