About me: Hi. My name is Melissa Sochacki and I am thrilled to be a part of the Washington family. I was born and raised in Lapeer, but came to Bay City in 1979 to start my career as a Special Education Teacher with the Bay Arenac ISD and I’ve been here ever since! This is my 31st year teaching students with Moderate Cognitive Impairments and I am happy to say that I still love my job as much as I did when I first started. My husband’s name is Rick and we have 2 children, Audrey and Luke. Rick and I both come from large families so we spend lots of our time having fun with our brothers & sisters and their families. We also score races (running and biking) on many weekends, so we travel to lots of different cities and meet many new people along the way.
In my spare time I love camping, gardening, dabbling with stained glass, spending time outdoors, and reading.
