Washington Elementary School was built in 1959. We house close to 550 students in grades kindergarten through fifth. We are situated in a quiet, historic neighborhood. Our students are taught by a highly qualified staff of teachers, most of whom are master teachers. Our school has just been completely remodeled inside and out--it is just beautiful!
Our data driven program is state accredited and is tightly aligned with the state of Michigan core curricular content standards. We continue to be aware of our students' progress by utilizing student data from a variety of sources all housed in our Data Warehouse.
Educational experiences are broad and suit the needs of our diverse population. Students with Limited English Proficiency are involved in general education classes with comprehensive support. We offer a variety of assistance supported by Title I funds--Focus Rooms, READ 180, Systems 44, counseling services, and a school nurse to name a few.
Washington Elementary is closely partnered with local universities and businesses where we share in the expertise of college students and prominent citizens from our area. We enjoy one of the most active, loyal parent groups anywhere!
